Season 2 Coming Spring 2024
We are delighted to announce that a second series of PERIODically is in development! In this second series we want to discuss more topics focused around the core question "How are different stages of a career affected by reproductive health?"
We will be talking to people from a variety of institutions in all different stages of their careers and lives. We will also be discussing topics that our initial focus group did not have the experience to properly address, such as the menopause, pregnancy, endometriosis and many more!
If you would like to contribute or share your stories and experiences please feel free to contact us by email or social media!
Periodically at GenSTEM 2024
GENStem is an event for both 'women in...' and any other minority groups studying and working in STEM at the University of Oxford. It is ran by societies that provide a speaker platform as well as a careers fair.

Our wonderful project lead, Charlie Simms spoke on the panel 'Challenges, progress and opportunities for an equitable future in academia, industry and beyond.' This is such an important conversation and we are so proud of Charlie for being such an amazing advocate for gender equity in STEM!
Winner of Bright Network's 'Women Who Inspire Award' 2023
After a successful video campaign, Periodically won the Bright Network's NextGen award in the 'Women Who Inspire' category. In December, four of us had the opportunity to travel to London for the awards ceremony. It was amazing to meet different students and society members from universities across the country! We also had the chance to present on the work we have done in Periodically, which received a great response.

What makes this award so special is that it was voted for by our listeners! We are so grateful for the support Periodically has received, and it is an honour to have our work recognised this way.
Trends in Chemistry Article
Our paper "Periods and Practicals: How to help your students" was published in Trends in Chemistry on the 24th of October 2023.

Periods are a practical barrier that can impact the academic progression of those who experience them, particularly in physically intensive courses such as chemistry degrees. As we work towards equality in education it is important to improve the environment for those with periods and providing easy access to free period products in bathrooms across educational institutions is a practical way to do this and reduce barriers to studying chemistry.
PERIODically at ViCE/PHEC
On the 24th of August, Josie and Manami presented on behalf of PERIODically at the Variety in Chemistry/Physics Higher Education Conference 2023, which was held at Durham University. They spoke about the journey to making this podcast and why it's so important!
We are grateful to everyone who went to watch the talk and who showed so much appreciation for this project! Thank you to ViCE/PHEC for giving us this opportunity and to Durham for hosting such a wonderful conference.
As a team, we are so incredibly proud of Manami and Josie who did an absolutely fantastic job!
